Bandi Slams Police for Revoking BJP Rally Permission in Borabanda
BJP leader accuses state government of bias after police withdraw approval for Jubilee Hills campaign event, vows to proceed “irrespective of permission.”
Hyderabad:Union minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Thursday strongly accused the Congress and BRS leadership of large-scale corruption, political opportunism and appeasement politics, while projecting the BJP as a party driven by ideology rather than “vote-bank gimmicks.”
Addressing an election rally at Borabanda, Sanjay averred he would rather cut his head rather than wearing a skull cap. Targeting Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Sanjay termed his symbolic gestures “an insult to Hindus” and questioned why the Congress government had sought a CBI probe into only part of the alleged Kaleshwaram scam. “If the scam is worth `1 lakh crore, why seek an inquiry into just `9,000 crore?” he questioned.
He accused BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao of being responsible for the death of party leader Maganti Gopinath, citing remarks purportedly made by Gopinath’s mother. Challenging Revanth Reddy to order a judicial probe “if he truly has the courage,” Sanjay alleged that KTR was “driven solely by his ambition for the Chief Minister’s post,” describing the BRS as “a family franchise lacking basic decency.”
Warning voters against what he termed a “dangerous alliance” between Congress and AIMIM, Sanjay alleged that Congress's victory would “endanger women’s safety and Hindu interests.” Calling for unity among Hindu voters, he said, “Three lakh of your votes outweigh their one lakh,” urging a strong consolidation in Jubilee Hills.
Mocking Revanth Reddy’s outreach to Muslim voters, Sanjay described it as “a film act for votes.” “While I plan to build temples, Revanth wants to build graveyards,” he quipped. He ascribed Hyderabad’s growth to “Prime Minister Modi’s leadership” and promised that the BJP would ensure “transparent governance and fearless development.”
BJP national vice president D.K. Aruna accused the Chief Minister of coming to power on “false assurances,” alleging that his government had betrayed patients by withholding Arogyasri funds, students through delayed fee reimbursements and employees by denying pending DA. BJP floor leader A. Maheshwar Reddy, deputy floor leader Payal Shankar, vice presidents Dr Kasam Venkateshwarlu and Dr Manohar Reddy and senior leaders participated in the meeting.
