Hyderabad: Union minister of state Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Wednesday accused the BRS of indulging in vindictive politics, alleging that the BJP had played a key role in ousting the party from power. He claimed that false propaganda against him was part of a larger conspiracy orchestrated by former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao.

He also alleged that BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao was running a “fake media factory” to spread misinformation about him.

Speaking to mediapersons at the BJP state office, Bandi Sanjay refuted allegations that he had misused his position to delay the arrest of his son, Bandi Bhagirath. He said the matter was sub judice and within the purview of the courts.

“Has there ever been an instance where a father voluntarily handed over his son to the police? When the police sought to conduct an inquiry, I personally handed my son over for questioning,” he said.

Dismissing rumours of launching a new political party, he said there was no need to respond to baseless claims. “We have groomed numerous party workers through BJP training camps. A committed BJP worker would only wish for the saffron flag to be draped over his mortal remains,” he said.

Taking a swipe at speculation over his removal as Union minister, he said the decision seemed to have been “taken by KCR and his son”.

Refuting reports of a possible arrest, Bandi Sanjay termed them rumours being spread by certain television channels at the behest of KTR. He alleged that such developments were driven by political vendetta following the BRS’ loss of power.

“Did we not end the BRS’s decade-long rule? They are unable to accept the loss of power, and that is why such attempts are being made,” he said.
