Bandi Attacks BRS, Congress
Sanjay announced that the BJP would clinch the Mayor seat in the GHMC elections and make Hyderabad free from Majlis influence, despite Congress extending full support to MIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi.
Hyderabad: Union minister of state Bandi Sanjay Kumar charged that BRS president and former chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao was the culprit behind the gross injustice inflicted on Telangana in the matter of sharing Krishna river waters. He said former Andhra Pradesh CM Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy had disclosed after an apex council meeting on river waters that Rao had settled for just 299 tmc ft of water for Telangana against the state’s rightful share of 575 thousand million cubic feet (tmc ft). Sanjay offered to reveal details of those agreements if required.
In a conversation with media personnel at the state BJP office here, Sanjay accused the Rao family of being the “biggest evil (shani)” for the state. He stated that people had realized the huge losses caused by Rao’s family to the state and had confined him to his farmhouse.
He also criticised Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for using “cheap and filthy” language against Rao, saying was highly unbecoming of a Chief Minister. He noted that people across the state were discussing those comments.
Claiming that Congress MLAs were in despair and voicing their discontent with the party-run government in internal meetings, Sanjay predicted that they would soon rebel against the government. “Three ministers are exploiting loopholes in the system and laws to amass thousands of crores. Congress MLAs are discussing it. The BJP is receiving reports on these scams through intelligence agencies and will expose the ministers,” Sanjay said. He said the BJP was planning an agitation against corruption.
On the Chief Minister’s announcement of special funds for gram panchayats, Sanjay asked the government not to offer alms but pay `1 crore each. He noted that the Chief Minister had acknowledged that up to Rs 5,000 crore in Central grants would go to the panchayats and asked why he was attacking the Centre with regard to allocations. Sanjay asked why the Congress government was not implementing its Six Guarantees using taxes paid by the people.
Sanjay also questioned why the government was confining its probe to the Rs 9,000-crore aspect involving three damaged barrages when the BJP had submitted evidence of over Rs 1 lakh crore corruption in the Kaleshwaram lift irrigation scheme construction.
He asked why Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad is taking action against Danam Nagender, elected on a BRS ticket but claiming loyalty to the Congress. Stating that the phone-tapping scandal continues like a TV serial, Sanjay said BJP would take stringent action against the accused when it returns to power. He charged that the Rao government tapped over 6,000 phones and accused the Revanth Reddy government of following the same lines.
