Hyderabad: Union minister Bandi Sanjay dismissed the threat of BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao of legal action unless the BJP leader retracted his phone-tapping allegations levelled earlier in the day within 48 hours.

Sanjay in a sharp personal attack repeated his ‘Twitter Tillu’ label for Rama Rao, and said that the BRS leader should be ashamed to talk about legal notices after allegedly engaging in “illegal things.”

“You’re a coward who hides behind legal notices. You unsuccessfully tried to do it in the past. I won’t fall for your monkey tricks. Bring it on,” Sanjay said on his social media handle

The BJP leader accused Rama Rao of avoiding family relations, referencing the upcoming Rakhi festival, and alleged that the BRS leader was “running away to avoid facing your own sister – whose phone was tapped, something she herself agreed.”

Refusing to be intimidated by the 48-hour warning, Sanjay added, “Let alone giving me 48 hours — your clock is ticking and your dark secrets will be exposed, leaving you with nowhere to hide.” He concluded with a pointed jab, “If only defending your illegal activities was as easy as begging BJP leaders for a party merger or seeking blessings from the PM to become CM…”

According to sources, the Telangana BJP tried to implicate the BRS leadership for involvement in the phone-tapping case which violated norms of the Union home ministry. The BJP had earlier charged the BRS with failing to destroy sensitive intercepted data annually, retaining it and exploiting phone records of thousands of persons for years for political and personal benefit.
