Hyderabad: Telangana Police on Wednesday transferred the case against former BRS MLA Balka Suman from Nampally Police Station to Banjara Hills Police Station. The FIR was originally registered at Nampally PS on the 26th of last month based on a complaint filed by B Anand, a Junior Inspector at Singareni Bhavan.
The complaint cited controversial remarks made by Suman during a meeting at Telangana Bhavan in Banjara Hills. Since the venue falls under Banjara Hills jurisdiction, the case was officially transferred on Wednesday.
Suman was arrested on Saturday night over allegations that he incited followers and party cadre to commit acts of sabotage on active railway networks, set Singareni Bhavan on fire, and conspire against the state. Police produced him before a magistrate at his residence, and he was remanded to 14-day judicial custody.
The case has been registered under Sections 326(G), 55, 61(2), 351(3), 353(1)(B), and Section 152 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with provisions of the Prevention of Damage to Public Property (PDPP) Act.
The Police are expected to file a petition in the Nampally Court today seeking three days of custody for further questioning.
