Bahubali, RRR, Balagam Movies Bag Gaddar Film Awards

Rudramadevi, a biographical film based on the life of Rudramadevi, who was the prominent rulers of Kakatiya dynasty, Shatamanambhavati, a family drama movie, Mahanati, a biographical movie based on the life of actress Savitri, Mahesh Babu’s starrer Maharshi, Allu Arjun’s Ala Vaikuntapuramulo, Sitaramam and Run Raja Run films won the best film awards.

These films were released from June 2, 2014 to December 31, 2023. GTFA Jury Chairman M Murali Mohan, who is also a film producer and actor, announced the awards at a press conference on Friday at Samachar Bhavan in AC Guards here.

The awards for the year 2024 and from 2014 to 2023 would be presented at a glittering function to be organized at Hitex in Madhapur on June 14. “No awards were presented for the best films after the formation of Telangana. Presenting Nandi awards also stopped since then. We made several requests to the previous Chief Ministers in two States to declare awards. The Chief Ministers only promised to look into it but nothing concrete was done,” he explained.

However, the Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy responded positively to the request and declared Gaddar film awards. “We met Revanth Reddy yesterday and explained to him about the awards. He also advised us to organize the awards presentation ceremony on a spectacular note,” Murali Mohan said.

He said NTR national film award would be presented to film actor Nandamuri Balakrishna, while Paidi Jairaj film award to director Maniratnam and BN Reddy film award to director Sukumar. Nagireddy and Chakrapani film award would be presented to film producer Atluri Purna Chandra Rao, while Kantha Rao film award to film actor Vijay Devarakonda and Raghupathi Venkaiah film award to writer Yendamuri Veerendranath.
