BA Hyd–London Flights Hit By Long Delays
British Airways Hyderabad–London flights faced delays of over four hours after a technical glitch in London air traffic control disrupted Heathrow operations.
British Airways services between Hyderabad and Heathrow faced heavy disruption this week, with delays of over four hours reported.
Flight BA276, scheduled to depart Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at 7.45 am on Wednesday, finally took off at 12.27 pm. The airline operates two daily services on the Hyderabad–London route. Officials said the delays were triggered by a technical glitch in the London air traffic control system from Tuesday, which caused hundreds of cancellations and delays at Heathrow and Gatwick as crews and aircraft were left out of position.
On Tuesday, the Heathrow–Hyderabad service scheduled at 3.30 pm (London local time) was delayed by five hours and 15 minutes.
A city-based travel agent said passengers bound for onward connections, especially to the United States, were hit hard. The airline assured travellers that efforts were underway to fix the disruption.
