HYDERABAD: An audio conversation between BTech student Yuvan and his alleged girlfriend has surfaced, revealing threats from her family days before his death.

Chilkalguda police identified the deceased as Yuvan, 21, a resident of Jawaharnagar, who was pursuing engineering and had been in a relationship with a girl from Sitaphalmandi. The two had known each other for years, with Yuvan being her senior in school.

According to the audio clip, the girl can be heard telling Yuvan that her parents were pressuring her to sign a written complaint alleging harassment by him. She reportedly refused to sign the document. She also told him that while her father had become silent about their relationship, her brother‑in‑law was aggressively opposing it.

In the conversation, she warned Yuvan that her brother‑in‑law had threatened to kill both of them. She further stated that her family was unwilling to listen to her and remained focused only on obtaining her signature for the police complaint.

Police said Yuvan had been staying at his sister’s place during examinations. He later stepped out to meet friends for group study sessions and was travelling towards Chilkalguda when the incident occurred. He died by suicide after allegedly facing mounting threats and pressure.

Investigators clarified that though the girl mentioned her father and brother‑in‑law in the audio, the father was not present during the incident. Teams have been formed to trace and apprehend those responsible for abetment and threats. The investigation is underway.

Meanwhile, Yuvan’s angry family and relatives rushed to the girl’s residence on Friday morning demanding justice. Police intervened and brought the situation under control.
