Asaduddin Owaisi Fills Enumeration Form
Owaisi questioned why the physical enumeration form restricts entry to only five children per household, pointing out that no Indian law strips voting or mapping rights based on large family sizes.
Hyderabad: AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi along with his family has officially filled out and submitted his voter enumeration form as part of the ongoing SIR of electoral rolls in Telangana. BLOs visited the Hyderabad MP’s residence on Sunday.
Later, in a media statement, he publicly criticised election authorities for providing enumeration forms primarily in Telugu, demanding that they be made available in Urdu (Telangana’s second official language) and English to assist non-Telugu speakers.
Owaisi questioned why the physical enumeration form restricts entry to only five children per household, pointing out that no Indian law strips voting or mapping rights based on large family sizes.
He requested Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to demand that the Election Commission accept common IDs like PAN cards, driving licences, and food security cards, as several documents currently on the standard 12-document list (like a permanent residence certificate) are not issued by Telangana state authorities.
