Aruna Reviews Progress of AIIMS Bibinagar
MP directs focus on OP services, diagnostics, hostels and emergency facilities
Hyderabad: BJP Mahbubnagar MP D.K Aruna, who is on the board of the AIIMS, directed officials to personally monitor and fast-track the civil works at the hospital in Bibinagar to ensure key facilities are operational within the deadline. She directed them to prioritise completion of out-patient (OP) services, diagnostic laboratories, hostel towers for undergraduate and postgraduate students, and emergency and billing facilities.
Reviewing the progress of the work, Aruna said the institute’s advanced medical infrastructure would provide affordable, high-quality treatment to poor and middle-class patients. She added that both Ayushman Bharat and Aarogyasri schemes would soon be extended to AIIMS Bibinagar, further widening access to specialised healthcare.
AIIMS Bibinagar executive director Amit Agarwal, academic dean Nitin Ashok and medical superintendent Maheshwar Lakkireddy joined the review meeting. Agarwal presented a detailed update on the status of civil works, current services on campus and facilities scheduled for launch in the coming months.
