Army Major’s Wife Targeted With AI-Morphed Obscene Content
The Secunderabad resident was allegedly targeted after unidentified persons collected her photographs and videos from her social media accounts.
Hyderabad: The wife of an Army Major, who works as a cabin crew member, was allegedly targeted by cybercriminals who used artificial intelligence to morph her photographs and videos into obscene content and circulate it on social media. Hyderabad Cybercrime police have registered a case.
The Secunderabad resident was allegedly targeted after unidentified persons collected her photographs and videos from her social media accounts. The accused are suspected to have used AI-based tools to manipulate the material and create obscene images and videos.
The morphed content was subsequently uploaded on social media platforms. The accused allegedly shared the posts and links with the woman’s relatives, friends and family members in an apparent attempt to harass and blackmail her.
The matter came to light after the obscene content was brought directly to the notice of the victim’s relatives. She subsequently approached the Hyderabad Cybercrime police.
Police have registered a case of cyber harassment and are examining digital evidence, including the social media accounts and links associated with the circulation of the morphed material. Investigators are working to identify those operating the accounts and determine how the original photographs and videos were obtained.
