Ande Sri Anna Is Telangana's Kalidas, Says CM Revanth Reddy
Ande Sri had very little formal education, yet he became one of the most talented and respected Telugu poets.
Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy paid tributes to the state's most iconic poet-lyricist Ande Sri on his birth anniversary today.
Revanth Reddy also shared a video in which one could see Revanth saying that, "People call Ande Sri Anna as Telugu Kalidas or Telangana Kalidas."
Recalling the poet's contribution, the Chief Minister said Ande Sri's famous song "Jaya Jayahe Telangana Janani Jayakethanam" celebrated Telangana's rich history and glorious past while expressing hope for a peaceful and prosperous state.
He said Ande Sri's poetry reflected nature, humanity, and the voice of the people. The Chief Minister also announced that the works for 'Smruti Vanam', a memorial dedicated to the people's poet, were being launched in his memory on the occasion of his birth anniversary.

Ande Sri was awarded with Nandi Award (2006) for the film ‘Ganga’. Doctorate from Academy of Universal Global Peace (2014) Dasharathi Literary Award (2015) Ravuri Bharadwaja Literary Award (2015) Nakamma National Award (2022) Dasharathi Krishnamacharya Literary Award (2024) Lok Nayak Award.
