Karimnagar: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Monday lauded Dr B.R. Ambedkar’s rise from poverty and caste discrimination, urging youth to emulate his perseverance, at a BJP district seminar marking Ambedkar Jayanti here.

Sanjay Kumar accused the Congress of marginalising Ambedkar’s legacy — denying him due recognition, blocking his Delhi final rites and charging his family for transporting his body to Mumbai — and of rejecting Mandal Commission recommendations while favouring religion-based quotas.

By contrast, he cited BJP initiatives: posthumous Bharat Ratna, development of five Ambedkar pilgrimage sites, Constitution Day observance, Article 370 repeal, NCBC empowerment and enhanced political representation for Dalits, OBCs and women.
