Kapil, Ajay Want Sports Varsity, Studio

Kapil Dev lauded the state government’s initiatives for the development of sports under the leadership of the Chief Minister.

Hyderabad: Former Indian cricket team captain Kapil Dev met Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy at his official residence in Delhi on Monday and offered support to the government in setting up Sports University in Telangana. Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn also met Revanth Reddy and expressed his interest to set up a world-class film studio in the state.

Kapil Dev lauded the state government’s initiatives for the development of sports under the leadership of the Chief Minister.

A press issued by Chief Minister's Office (CMO) said Revanth Reddy briefed Kapil Dev about the government’s plans to establish the Young India Sports University and outlined the comprehensive efforts being taken to promote sports infrastructure and talent development across the state.

Impressed by the vision, Kapil Dev assured the Chief Minister of his support in making the proposed Sports University a success and contributing to broader initiatives aimed at nurturing sporting talent.

The Chief Minister also shared insights from his recent visits to sports universities and institutions in South Korea and other countries, along with discussions held with international sports experts and officials.

Actor Ajay Devgn proposed the development of an international-standard film studio equipped with state-of-the-art animation, VFX and AI-powered smart studios. He also expressed willingness to set up a skill development institute to train professionals across various domains of the film industry.

Ajay Devgn requested the Chief Minister to facilitate support for setting up the studio. CM briefed the actor on the steps being taken by the Telangana government for overall development across sectors, including media and entertainment. Ajay Devgn appreciated the proactive initiatives of the state and assured that he would act as a brand ambassador in promoting “Telangana Rising” vision through the lens of cinema and media.
