AITUC Announces New Initiatives for VST Workers
Hyderabad: Dr G. Sanjeeva Reddy, president of the All Indian National Trade Union Congress (Intuc), announced new initiatives for workers at Vazir Sultan Tobacco (VST) Industries, including four increments and a Rs 4,000 bonus for each worker who has been transferred to the Toopran industrial area.
He was speaking after hoisting the National Flag at the office of the VST Workers Union, which he heads, on Republic Day on Sunday.
Dr Reddy also promised better transport, healthcare, and social security benefits. Dr. Reddy said that the VST Workers Union would work closely with the management to ensure that wages remain competitive and reflect the cost of living.
In his speech, Dr Reddy talked about the need to protect workers' rights and improve their pay and welfare. He also spoke of how unions give workers a voice and help ensure fair working conditions.
The workers strongly supported Dr Reddy’s leadership. The event ended with a renewed sense of unity, as workers and their leaders, including R.D. Chandra Shekar, K. Rajaiah, L.D. Paul, Nagesh, Srinivas Yadav, Krishna Reddy, Mallesh, and Randheer Reddy, promised to keep working for the growth of the union and VST Industries.
