 Hyderabad: Air India Express has announced an increase in its free baggage allowance in international flights to the Middle East and Singapore. Passengers now can check in up to 30 kg of luggage, along with 7 kg of cabin baggage.

Families travelling with infants can carry up to 47 kg, including the 7 kg cabin baggage and an additional 10 kg for their infant’s luggage. The airline also offers a 40 kg baggage allowance for those flying in its Xpress Biz class, which is equivalent to business class.

Air India Express, in a statement, said it was offering Xpress Lite fares for those who don’t need check-in baggage. This option provides a lower ticket price and includes an additional 3 kg of cabin baggage. If passengers need more luggage later, they can pre-book additional check-in baggage at discounted rates.

Passengers can also carry an extra 3-5 kg of cabin baggage with the new Extra Carry-On service. Additionally, musical instruments can be carried as cabin baggage at no extra cost if they meet size requirements. For larger instruments, passengers can purchase an additional seat or check them in with special charges.

GHMC townplanning wing carried demolition drive to remove illegal encroachments at Chandrayangutta

The GHMC town planning wing demolished illegal constructions and encroachments along the roadside from Chandrayangutta flyover to Crystal Colony, Bandlaguda, on Saturday. Unauthorised sheds and shops occupying footpaths as part of the operation using a bulldozer.

GHMC officials conducted demolition drive with force and support of law and order and traffic personnel. Several shopkeepers affected by the demolition said they would suffer a financial loss due to their shop frontages being bulldozed.

A GHMC town olanning official stated: “The drive was conducted to remove road encroachments and illegal roadside shops as part of an ongoing effort to clear footpaths and roads from unauthorised structures.”
