HYDERABAD: With trauma emerging as a major risk for children, AIIMS Bibinagar held a one-day paediatric trauma resuscitation module (PTRM) workshop focused on improving emergency response and care. The event was organised by the institute’s department of paediatrics as part of the IAP-Pemcon pre-conference activities.

Around 40 doctors and nurses from Hyderabad and nearby areas took part in the session and were briefed by experts from CMC Vellore and Bengaluru. Separately, two senior residents from AIIMS Bibinagar won a quiz at the IAP-Pemcon conference held in Hyderabad on March 29.

Officials said pediatric trauma needed a different approach from adult care and stressed the importance of the “golden hour” in saving lives. The workshop covered airway management, shock resuscitation, trauma assessment and use of ultrasound, with a focus on hands-on training.
