Hyderabad: Hyderabad’s reputation as a global hub for medical tourism received a boost as AIG Hospitals welcomed the Miss World 2025 delegation. Dr D. Nageshwar Reddy, chairman of AIG Hospitals, said the visit reflected the international recognition of Hyderabad and Telangana as destinations for world-class healthcare.

“At AIG, we combine compassionate patient care with pioneering technology and research,” he noted, adding that being included in the Miss World festival itinerary reaffirms the hospital’s global standards and highlights India’s blend of advanced and humane healthcare.

On Friday, as part of the 72nd Miss World competition, the contestants went on fun tours around Telangana. They were split into two groups and visited some of the state’s famous places.

AIG Hospitals in Hyderabad had the special honour of welcoming a group from the Miss World event. This visit was part of a worldwide effort to show medical tourism and new health care ideas in Telangana.

There were 37 contestants from Africa, Europe, and Asia. Many of them are doctors, nurses, psychologists, or students studying health care. They came from countries like Guadeloupe, Turkey, Wales, Bosnia, Puerto Rico, Belgium, Guatemala, Lebanon, Malaysia, Poland, France, Northern Ireland, Guyana, and Malta.

The delegation toured AIG’s state-of-the-art facilities, including its globally acclaimed Endoscopy Suites, AI and Innovation Centre, Clinical Skill Lab, Research Lab, and advanced Oncology and Paediatric care units. The visit facilitated an immersive exchange of ideas, global healthcare perspectives, and technological awareness offering these global ambassadors a firsthand experience of India’s rapidly evolving medical capabilities.

The visit left a profound impression on several of the contestants, many of whom are students and professionals in the field of healthcare.

Miss Poland, Maja Klajda, a psychology student, expressed her admiration, saying “I never expected to see such advanced infrastructure and holistic care in one place. AIG Hospitals exceeds even the standards of several European hospitals I’ve seen. This was an eye-opening experience into the future of global healthcare.”

The other groups explored the rich heritage and natural beauty of Telangana by visiting the ancient banyan tree at Pillalamarri in Mahabubnagar. The contestants were welcomed in traditional grandeur with Dhol beats and adorned with Gajjelu. They enthusiastically joined in the celebrations, dancing to the rhythmic beats.

The forest department officials shared insights into the tree’s history and the ongoing efforts to preserve and revive this natural monument.

The cultural tour began with a visit to the Sri Rajarajeswari and Lord Ramalingeswara temples, followed by a tour of the local museum.
