AI, Robotics Courses See 100% Seat Allotment
About 51 colleges, including five university colleges and 46 private colleges, have recorded 100 per cent seat allocation.
Hyderabad: Computer science and IT related courses topped the list of student preferences with high demand and a 100 per cent seat allotment was seen for programmes like artificial intelligence, computer science and engineering (networks).
After the Eapcet 2025 final phase seat allotment was released on Sunday, 11,638 undergraduate engineering seats remain vacant. While 91,649 seats were available in the convener quota in 180 engineering colleges, including 156 private, 21 university and two private universities, 80,011 seats have been allotted.
At 9,696 the highest number of vacant seats were in the private engineering colleges, followed by 1,793 seats in university colleges, which saw 72.2 per cent seat allotments.
About 51 colleges, including five university colleges and 46 private colleges, have recorded 100 per cent seat allocation. All seats have been allocated in courses like artificial intelligence, computer science and engineering (networks), robotics and artificial intelligence, bio-medical engineering, electronics and telematics, electronics and instrumentation engineering, metallurgy engineering, BTech mechanical with MTech manufacturing systems and thermal engineering, mechatronics engineering, Automobile engineering, chemical engineering, geo-informatics and dairying.
In the branch-wise admissions, 59.819 seats were allotted in computer and IT related programmes, which marks 91.92 per cent of 65,080 total available seats. Similarly, in electrical and electronics engineering branches, 3,636 seats remained vacant as 14,118 seats or 79.52 per cent were allotted out of 17,754 seats.
In the mechanical and civil engineering branches, 68.22 per cent or 5,236 seats were allotted out of the total 7,675 seats available.
In the other engineering courses like chemical engineering, Geo informatics and nine other courses, only 73.51 per cent or 838 seats were filled out of 1140 seats. Candidates who received seat allotment must self-report online and pay tuition fee online on or before August 12. Otherwise, the provisional seat allotment would be cancelled.
Candidates have to report in person at the allotted college between August 11 and 13 and hand over a set of photocopies of certificates and the original transfer certificate. All candidates who have reported in person at the allotted college can participate in the centralised internal sliding for change of branch within the college, if desired, on August 18 and 19. The fee reimbursement applies to eligible internal slided candidates.
