Hyderabad: Engineering aspirants have urged the Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC) to reschedule the Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE), roads and buildings examination scheduled for November 6, as it clashes with the Staff Selection Commission’s Junior Engineer (SSC JE) examination.

According to the schedules, the TGPSC AEE (Civil) computer-based examination will be held on November 6 and 7, while SSC JE Paper I is scheduled from November 2 to 6.

Candidates allotted November 6 for the SSC examination will face a direct clash.

Aspirants protesting outside the TGPSC office in Hyderabad said several engineering graduates, particularly civil engineers, had applied for both examinations while pursuing opportunities in state and central government departments.

“We have been preparing for both examinations to keep our options open for government jobs.

It is unfair to lose an opportunity because the examinations are scheduled on the same day,” said Govardhana, an aspirant.

Candidates said the overlapping schedules could force them to miss one examination despite months of preparation.

They urged TGPSC to coordinate with the SSC and reschedule the AEE examination to enable candidates to compete for both posts.

Another aspirant, Ramya, said recruitment agencies should coordinate their examination calendars before finalising dates, particularly when the same pool of engineering graduates applies for both tests.

The aspirants appealed to TGPSC to resolve the issue at the earliest and ensure candidates get an opportunity to appear for both examinations.
