Hyderabad: Special teams probing into the murder of High Court advocate Khaja Moizuddin have reportedly arrested one M. Santosh, listed as the seventh accused in the case where the main accused remain Mujahid Alam Khan and his father Mahbub Alam Khan.

Meanwhile, Moizuddin’s son M.S. Farhan, a High Court advocate himself, once again met city police commissioner V.C. Sajjanar and reportedly urged him to cancel the arms licence held by Mujahid Alam Khan and his aide Hassan Ali alias Chaous. Farhan reportedly cited a serious threat to his life and urged for the cancellation of arms licences held by Hassan Ali.

After the meeting, commissioner said night patrols in the area around Farhan’s house would be intensified and appropriate action will be taken on the arms licence cancellation as per law.

The police have so far arrested Mujahid Alam Khan (Accused 1), his father Mahbub Alam Khan (A2), Abhijeeth alias Nani (A4), Dighan Vinay (A5), Hassan Ali alias Chaous (A7) Vikram Aditya alias Chintu (A8) and Manideep alias Pogo Nani (A10).

Police were looking out for two other accused, Mohammed Muneer, said to be Mujahid Alam Khan’s driver, and Kishan alias Pappu, who played key roles in coordinating the Moizuddin murder conspiracy.

Police said they had approached a city court for five day custody of Mujahid Alam Khan, Mahbub Alam Khan and two others. “We are waiting for the court's permission for further probe,” an officer said.

Meanwhile, a source seeking anonymity claimed that Mujahid Alam Khan’s alleged henchmen Hassan Ali and driver Mohammed Muneer were involved in poaching of deer at the main accused’s farmhouse in Andole Pulkal of Sangareddy district. The meat of the deer was allegedly cooked at the farmhouse and consumed there.

“I have not seen Mujahid poaching deer but villagers informed me that he, Hassan and Muneer with hunting rifles were seen going in a jeep towards the forests,” the source said. Hassan Ali allegedly possessed a valid licence to cull wild boar but misused it to hunt deer.
