Adivasi Girl Allegedly Gangraped
Gangraped by a few auto drivers in Yedugurallapally village of Bhadrachalam agency area
Nalgonda: A 17-year-old Adivasi girl was allegedly gangraped by a few auto drivers in Yedugurallapally village of Bhadrachalam agency area on the Chhattisgarh-Telangana border. The incident, which took place on Saturday evening, came to light on Sunday. The victim belongs to Chhattisgarh. According to police, the girl boarded an auto trolley at Kuntla village to reach the Gollaguppa crossroad.
Later, she was found unconscious near Peaddamma Thalli Temple at K. P. Jaganadhapuram village of Palvancha mandal in Bhadradri-Kothagudem district.
There were injuries to the teeth on the body of the victim. It was suspected that the accused might have offered her a soft drink mixed with alcohol that made her lose consciousness. Upon receiving the information from locals and police, ICDS officials rushed to the spot and shifted her to Kothagudem. Child development project officer K. Lakshmi inquired about the victim's details and found injuries on her body. Based on her complaint, a case was filed with the Palvancha police station under sections of sexual assault and was reportedly transferred to the Yedugurallapally police station in Andhra Pradesh.
Kothagudem Superintendent of police Rohit Raju said the special police teams were formed at Charla, Dammugudem, and Palvancha to identify and arrest the accused in the case.
