Adilabad collector Rajarshi Shah said the selection process was conducted in a transparent manner and that allotment would be made to the identified beneficiaries
ADILABAD: District authorities in Adilabad have selected 337 beneficiaries through a lottery for allotment of 2BHK houses constructed during the previous BRS regime, officials said.
The selection was conducted in Adilabad municipality, where 337 beneficiaries were chosen from 1,032 applicants through a lucky draw. Officials said the houses are located in KRK Colony in Adilabad, and in Jainad and Khanapur mandal headquarters.
The administration has planned to distribute the houses to eligible beneficiaries on June 2. Officials said earlier distribution had been postponed following disputes among applicants over the selection process.
According to officials, seven beneficiaries were selected from each of the 49 wards in the municipality through a random draw.
The list of selected beneficiaries will be displayed on the municipal notice board, and objections, if any, can be submitted within three days. The final list will be issued after scrutiny.
Adilabad collector Rajarshi Shah said the selection process was conducted in a transparent manner and that allotment would be made to the identified beneficiaries.
Separately, officials said steps are being taken to expedite construction of Indiramma houses. Inspections are being carried out to identify issues faced by beneficiaries and reasons for delays.
In Mancherial district, additional collector P. Chandraiah, mayor Dharani Madhukar and commissioner Anvesh reviewed progress of Indiramma housing works and directed contractors to speed up construction.
