Hyderabad: In order to prevent road accidents by controlling speed on national highways in the district, the Adilabad police put up special cutouts with Dial 100 vehicles and traffic constables posters on them to ensure that motorists follow speed limit and traffic rules.

These cutouts were placed on the NH-44 in the district connecting Telangana with Maharashtra from Adilabad. To prevent loss of life due to accidents, the district Superintendent of Police Akhil Mahajan came up with an idea on putting up cutouts on the highway.

These cutouts were placed at Mekala Gandi in Gudihatnur and Bandham crossroads at Neradigonda mandal so that a police vehicle and a traffic constable are visible on the poster. Speaking on the occasion, he said the motorists would follow traffic rules and regulations if there is visible policing in the form of cutouts with the poster of police vehicles.

He said that in the last two years, special cutouts were placed at the areas where accidents have occurred most frequently due to the lack of self-control of speed by motorists. He advised motorists to adhere to the safety rules while driving on the highways where heavy vehicles also commute.
