ADILABAD: Many people are falling sick due to sudden changes in weather conditions, developing coughs and colds, and suffering from viral fevers in this region. Adilabad is experiencing 36-degree Celsius temperatures.

The region is experiencing hot weather conditions for the last few days even as this is the rainy season.

The high temperatures now are believed to be caused by the El Nino conditions and there would likely be changes in the cycle of seasons in the future.

Patients suffering from viral fevers, body pains, headache, cold and cough are thronging private and government hospitals. Out of home, many are carrying umbrellas and covering their heads with towels to avoid high temperatures.

Many Kolam Adivasis are suffering from viral fevers in the interior areas of Loddiguda-Kolamguda in Gadiguda mandal, and they are unable to come to the nearest town for availing treatment. There was no proper road connectivity to their villages, causing difficulty for the family members to shift the patients to the nearest government PHC.

The sudden change in the weather is causing health problems. There is drizzle in some areas followed high by temperatures.

An elderly person, Ashanna of Adilabad, said he was unable to bear the high temperature and felt like fainting when he went outside for work. He immediately returned home. High temperatures are being recorded especially in the afternoon, and this continues till night.
