Hyderabad:Union minister G. Kishan Reddy on Tuesday branded as "mad people", party MPs from Telangana who had leaked details of their recent meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, despite explicit instructions to maintain confidentiality. He vowed stringent party action against the culprits.

During an informal interaction after a press conference on sports ministry initiatives, Kishan Reddy revealed that Modi had urged state MPs not to disclose contents of the discussions. "Even after that, some mad people leaked it to the media. If the party identifies them, strict action will follow," he asserted.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of the Parliament Winter Session last week, when Modi met the BJP’s southern states’ MPs, including eight from Telangana. Reports indicated that Modi had expressed strong displeasure over their performance and lacklustre social media outreach on public issues, contrasting sharply with AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi's proactive digital presence.

Kishan Reddy highlighted the party's elevation of two southern leaders to Vice President roles, noting Modi's directive for MPs to ramp up social media activity amid Telangana's favourable political climate. "BJP is the only party where a common worker can rise to president," he added.

He also slammed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's "vote chori" remarks against Modi at a rally, calling them immature and unbecoming of a national opposition figure lacking basic political acumen.

Kishan Reddy said he had met with Union railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to review projects, including reconstruction of 42 stations in Telangana. Discussions covered extending MMTS Phase-II to Yadadrigutta at a cost of Rs 400 crore and expediting Komaravelli Mallanna station for devotees.
