Performance and progress of key aspects related to law and order and investigation reviewed
Hyderabad: Medchal Deputy Commissioner of Police, N. Koti Reddy underscored the need for accountability, timely investigation, and proactive policing. He asked to maintain strict vigilance in view of the upcoming Bakrid and ensure law and order through intensified patrolling, check-posts, and community engagement.
At a monthly crime review meeting conducted here on Wednesday, Koti Reddy conducted a detailed review of performance and progress on key aspects related to law and order and criminal investigations.
The primary focus areas included pending case disposal, crime prevention strategies, surveillance of rowdy-sheeters, security arrangements for the upcoming Bakrid festival, and adherence to instructions issued by senior officers.
The agenda covered an in-depth analysis of all Under Investigation (UI) cases, both grave and non-grave, including the status of Economic Offences Wing (EOW) cases and the distribution of Case Diary (CD) files.
Special attention was given to cases pending since before 2023 and UI cases registered in the first half of 2024. The review also included POCSO cases, SC/ST cases, and the pendency of Magisterial Cases (MC), Postmortem Examination (PME), and Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) reports.
Additional discussion points included the conviction rate, property detection and recovery rates on a police station-wise basis, and prosecution withdrawal cases.
Long-pending compoundable Private Treaty (PT) cases and monitoring of active suspect sheets were also reviewed. Action taken in sound pollution cases, updates and discrepancies in the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS), and security arrangements such as check-posts for Bakrid were also examined.
The pendency of 4C petitions, Prajavani grievances, commission enquiries, and cyber crime Proceedings on Hand (POH) cases were reviewed as well.
The meeting was attended by the Additional DCP, Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs), Station House Officers (SHOs), Investigating Officers (IOs), and support staff from across the Medchal zone.
