AAI Team on Site Hunt at Kothagudem

Kothagudem: A six-member Airports Authority of India (AAI) team on Thursday toured the district to identify a site for setting up an airport in Kothagudem.
The central team comprising aero planning officer Abdul Aziz, architect Mahoammed Sakil, operations officer Prashtha Gupta, CNS officer R. Dayaker, engineering officer C. Manish and FPD officer Unni Krishnan visited various places at Kothagudem, Gambeerpet, Sijathanagar and Chunchupally.
District collector Jitesh V Patel explained to the AAI team the necessity of Kothagudem to have an airport. He said that 950 acres of land near Kothagudem was proposed for the airport, adding the district has coal mines and other industries.
