926 Vegetable Vendors Apply at FSSAI Camps

Organised under the directions of the commissioner of food safety, the camps were meant to facilitate registrations and create awareness on food hygiene, safety standards, and sanitation practices in market premises.

Hyderabad:The Telangana food safety department on Tuesday conducted camps with regard to Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) registration and licensing norms in 14 major vegetable markets. A total of 926 applications were received from vendors seeking registration or licensing.

Organised under the directions of the commissioner of food safety, the camps were meant to facilitate registrations and create awareness on food hygiene, safety standards, and sanitation practices in market premises.

Camps were held at the Monda Market, the Gudimalkapur complex, the markets at Kushaiguda, Uppal, Madannapet, NTR Nagar, Lingampally, Erragadda and Mettuguda as well as the Mir Alam mandi, The camps were also held at the Rythu Bazaars at Saroornagar, Vanasthalipuram, and JNTU.

Another round of camps would be conducted on December 30 at the same locations to help vendors who missed the first phase, said the officials. The initiative is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen food safety standards and ensure the supply of safe food to consumers.
