Seven of the 15 postgraduate students who appeared for the MD Paediatrics practical examinations at Gandhi Medical College failed despite clearing the theory examination, prompting the Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS) to conduct an inquiry into the evaluation process.

The Gandhi Junior Doctors Association (Gandhi JUDA) submitted a representation to university Vice Chancellor Dr K. Ramesh Reddy in Warangal, raising concerns over the fairness and transparency of the evaluation.

Responding to the representation, Dr Ramesh Reddy assured the delegation that an inquiry would be conducted shortly and that action would be taken against those found responsible if any irregularities or instances of injustice were established.

The Vice Chancellor also assured that supplementary practical examinations for the seven unsuccessful candidates would be held at a different institution in late November or December 2026. A fresh set of internal and external examiners, who were not involved in the previous examination, would conduct the practicals.

Gandhi JUDA welcomed the assurances and called for the matter to be resolved in a time-bound manner, safeguarding the academic interests and future careers of the affected postgraduate students.
