Seven Hyderabad-bound flights were cancelled on Tuesday due to disruptions in the schedule caused by bad weather at the Delhi airport. IndiGo said it had cancelled 105 flights on Monday and over 50 on Tuesday nationwide.
The airline said prolonged low visibility conditions complicated operations and affected air traffic movement, leading to flight cancellations. Passengers were informed well in advance through WhatsApp and email, officials said.
Dense fog in Delhi and several northern parts of India severely reduced visibility. Apart from cancellations, many flights were delayed or rescheduled.
The ministry of civil aviation has issued advisories in view of heavy fog, urging passengers to check the latest flight status on airline websites or mobile apps before heading to airports.
