60% Of Nominated Posts For Loyal Congress Workers: DCC Chief
Venkatram Reddy said the decision would ensure recognition for committed Congress workers who remained loyal to the party during difficult times.
HANAMKONDA: Hanamkonda District Congress Committee (DCC) president Engala Venkatram Reddy on Friday welcomed the AICC's decision to reserve 60 per cent of nominated posts for long-serving party leaders and grassroots workers.
Describing the move as historic, he said priority would be given to former mandal presidents, district executive members, leaders of affiliated organisations and senior Assembly constituency leaders who have worked for the party over the years. The quota will cover key nominated posts, including PACS directors, PACS chairpersons and Market Committee members.
Venkatram Reddy said the decision would ensure recognition for committed Congress workers who remained loyal to the party during difficult times. He also welcomed the AICC's decision to provide adequate representation to SCs, STs, BCs, minorities and women in the nomination process, calling it a reflection of the party's commitment to social justice.
He appreciated the guidelines directing district in-charge ministers, local ministers, MPs, MLAs, MLCs, DCC presidents and Assembly constituency leaders to prepare a final list of nominees in consultation with senior party leaders.
Thanking AICC in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and TPCC president Bomma Mahesh Kumar Goud, he said the decision had boosted the morale of Congress workers across Telangana and would strengthen the organisation.
