50,000 Visually Impaired To Chant Gita At Chinmaya Fete
The celebrations will feature thematic stalls, interactive activities and a virtual reality journey showcasing the life and vision of the Mission’s founder, Swami Chinmayananda.
Hyderabad: The Chinmaya Mission will celebrate its Amrit Mahotsav, marking its 75th anniversary, with a two-day event on January 24 and 25 at NTR Stadium.
The celebrations will feature thematic stalls, interactive activities and a virtual reality journey showcasing the life and vision of the Mission’s founder, Swami Chinmayananda. A major highlight will be mass chanting of the 15th chapter of the Bhagavad Gita by about 50,000 participants, including visually impaired devotees, along with musical renditions by youth and schoolchildren.
The programme will also include the unveiling of Gita Panchamrit, five essential verses of the Bhagavad Gita meant to guide daily life. The Mission, which operates in over 32 countries through more than 330 centres, said the event reflects its focus on inner transformation, collective well-being and nation-building.
Addressing the media, Swami Sarveshananda said the celebrations would bring together devotees, students and the public to honour the legacy of Swami Chinmayananda and the Mission’s global work. The Mission’s global head, Swami Swaroopananda, said the event would underscore the relevance of the Gita and Upanishads in contemporary life.
