HYDERABAD: The establishment of a 50-tonne-per-day bio-methanisation plant at Ameenpur under the Swachh Bharat Mission 2.0, development of a UCI Olympic-standard 5-metre and 8- metre dual hill BMX Supercross track near Medchal Check Post, the first such facility in the country and the SAARC region, were among the series of projects approved by the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) standing committee on Wednesday.
The committee also approved proposals for the scientific management of chicken waste and strengthening sanitation services through the procurement of mechanised road-sweeping vehicles and truck-mounted skip loaders.
On the infrastructure front, the committee approved a road development plan for a proposed 30-metre-wide road connecting Bachupally to Mallanna Temple on Nizampet Road and road widening, a central median and central lighting from Mahadevapuram X Road to Gajularamaram junction.
The committee approved collaboration with Unicef to establish a child-friendly and safe CMC. A proposal to expand dog shelters at the animal care centre in Mahadevapuram was also cleared.
Other approvals included regulated eco-friendly activities at Barla Kunta, Sriramnagar, Serilingampally, adoption of the official CMC logo across CMC offices, parks, assets and signage, and CSR-supported development and maintenance of central greenery from Nallagandla crossoads to Tellapur Road.
