5 BRS Women Corporators Join Congress in Khammam
The corporators said they decided to switch allegiance from the BRS to the Congress to support the state government’s initiatives for urban development and to contribute to putting Khammam city on a growth-oriented development path.
Nalgonda: In a setback to the BRS in Khammam, five women corporators of the Khammam Municipal Corporation joined the Congress at Gandhi Bhavan in Hyderabad on Monday, in the presence of TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud.
The corporators who joined the Congress are Chirumamilla Lakshmi (12th Division), Golla Chandrakala (25th Division), Donaval Saraswathi (32nd Division), Dade Amruthamma (40th Division) and Mothavarapu Sravani (55th Division).
Agriculture minister Tummala Nageswara Rao was also present at the programme. Goud formally welcomed the corporators into the party by draping the Congress scarf on them.
