4 Telangana Inter Students Selected For Japan’s Sakura Science Programme

HYDERABAD: Four Inter first-year students from Telangana have been selected for the Japan Science High School Programme, also known as the Sakura Science Programme, run by the Japan Science and Technology Agency. The students will travel to Japan from May 24 to 30 as part of an international academic exchange focused on exposure to scientific learning and interaction with researchers.

One of the selected students, G Shivanjali, MPC student of Telangana Model School and Junior College, Sadasivnagar, said, “I was selected first at the district level and then at the SCERT level. I am very excited and I love Japan’s culture and traditions. My parents are also very proud.” Shivanjali who is preparing for JEE mains said she wants to become an aeronautical engineer in the future.

The other students chosen for the programme are Ch Akshaya of Telangana Residential Junior College, Hasanparthy in Hanumakonda district, B Parusha from IIIT Basar in Jogulamba Gadwal district, and B Venu of Telangana Model School, Irkode in Siddipet district. All four are studying in government-run institutions.

Ch Akshaya said the selection brought happiness and enthusiasm, and added that planning for the visit would begin after the board examinations, as the present focus remains on academics. “Inter boards are almost here so, focus is on that and right after I think I will start planning for the programme. This is so great and I am so excited.”

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy congratulated the students on their selection. Education Secretary Dr Yogita Rana and Director of School Education Dr E Naveen Nicolas also conveyed their greetings.
