38 Members Of CPI (Maoist) Surrender Before Bhadradri-Kothagudem Police
CPI(Maoist) members surrendered after knowing about measures being taken up for their welfare
Nalgonda: Thirty-eight Maoists members surrendered before Bhadradri-Kothagudem superintendent of police B. Rohit Raju on Friday. The group included two party members, 16 militia members, seven village committee members, six members of the Krantikari Adivasi Mahila Sangathan, three from the Chetna Natya Manch and four Guerrilla Revolutionary District members.
SP Rohit Raju said, “They decided to leave the path of Naxalism and lead a peaceful life with their family members. They voluntarily surrendered before the police after knowing about the measures being taken up for the welfare of surrendered Maoists and development activities carried out for Tribal people under the 'Operation Cheyutha' programme by Bhadradri-Kothagudem police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).”
He noted that several Maoists had been giving up their weapons and surrendering as they have been attracted by the rehabilitation provided by the Telangana government. The police are also ensuring that the rewards announced for them were handed over to them immediately after their surrender, he explained.
In 2025, so far, around 265 members working at various levels in the banned Maoist party have surrendered before the Bhadradri-Kothagudem police. The CPI Maoist party has lost support and trust among the tribal people due to its outdated ideology, he added.
