3 Youths Trapped With Fake Jobs, Stuck In Myanmar
Three youths from Malkajgiri were tricked into a fake job placement and ended up being trapped in Myanmar. The father of one of the victims approached the police and lodged a complaint.
Hyderabad:Three youths from Malkajgiri were tricked into a fake job placement and ended up being trapped in Myanmar. The father of one of the victims approached the police and lodged a complaint.
According to complainant Sameeruddin, one Abdul Obaid from APSC Colony contacted his son Mohammad Altaf, offering a job at a call centre in Bangkok. In the hope of making money, Altaf accepted the offer. However, Altaf reached Bangkok, Obaid refused to help him.
Having no option, Altaf and two others Shabbir Ali from Rajendranagar and Mohammad Arbaz from RTC Colony entered Myanmar.
When contacted, Altaf’s father refused to talk and said he would give a statement after his son returns to Hyderabad in a couple of days.
Myanmar is infamous for cyber slavery. Around 200 Indians, who were working for cyber fraudsters in inhospitable conditions, reached India in March. Indian youth are typically wooed in the name of overseas jobs and when they reach Bangkok, they are forced to work in Myanmar duping people in India.
