WARANGAL: Three people died and three others sustained serious injuries in a road accident on Monday when a speeding car collided with a lorry on the outskirts of Raghavapur village in Station Ghanpur mandal, Jangaon district.

The accident occurred on the Warangal-Hyderabad national highway, and the impact was so severe that the car was completely mangled, killing three of its occupants instantly. The deceased include two women and one man, all of whom were residents of Hyderabad and originally hailed from Amalapuram, Andhra Pradesh.

According to police, six individuals were travelling in the car from Hanamkonda to Hyderabad when the collision took place. Passersby who witnessed the crash alerted the authorities, following which police personnel rushed to the scene and began rescue operations.

The injured were immediately shifted to the government hospital in Jangaon for treatment. Meanwhile, a case has been registered, and an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident. Police have also launched a search for the lorry driver, who reportedly fled the scene after the crash.
