Hyderabad: At least three people were injured after a speeding car rammed into the road divider, leading to a three-car collision on near Pillar 235 of the PVNR expressway in Rajendranagar, at around 11.30 am on Saturday. The collision led to major traffic congestion for some time.

According to Rajendranagar traffic inspector Ch Raju, a car travelling from Mehedipatnam towards Aramghar and hit the divider. Following the impact, the vehicle ended up partially on both sides of the road, hanging on the divider.

Another car travelling from Aramghar towards Mehdipatnam, coming from the opposite direction, crashed into the front portion of the accident vehicle. Almost simultaneously, another car also approaching from Mehdipatnam, hit the first vehicle.

Police said two to three persons sustained injuries in the incident. However, by the time traffic police reached the spot, the injured had already been shifted to a hospital by passersby. “When our personnel arrived, no injured persons were present at the scene, and we were unable to immediately ascertain the nature of their injuries,” Inspector Raju said, adding that preliminary information suggested that the injured are out of danger.

Traffic police cleared the congestion after moving the vehicles involved to an emergency parking area near the spot. The damaged vehicles were not shifted to the police station, the cop clarified.

Police have not yet identified the drivers or occupants of the vehicles involved. No formal complaint has been received so far in connection with the accident, Rajendranagar sub-inspector Prashanth Reddy, who looks after the area, said.

Traffic movement was restored after clearing the spot, and further action will depend on whether a complaint is lodged by those involved or injured in the collision.
