25% Rebate on LRS to Save Lakhs for House Owners
GHMC offers discounts on charges until March 31; help desks set up in zonal offices
Hyderabad: Applicants of the layout regularisation scheme (LRS) could save lakhs of rupee by availing the 25 per cent rebate on the regularisation charges and pro-rata open space charges.
This provision is a boon for property owners who are planning to build houses and their plot is in unplanned, unapproved or unauthorised layouts.
The pro-rata open space charge is 14 per cent of the plot value, i.e. market value, also known as card value or government rate of the plot.
As per norms, if a person wants to build a house on a plot in an unplanned layout, he needs to pay 14 per cent of plot value in addition to the regular building permit charges while applying for a building permit. If the charges are not paid, the GHMC will not process the application.
The rebate will be available till March 31 and a help desk has been set up in each of six GHMC zonal offices to guide the applicants.
The government received 1,07,865 applications from areas under the GHMC jurisdiction under LRS-2020.
