2 Persons Lodge Complaint with Hyderabad Police against Big Boss Show
The participants often use abusive language, exhibit indecent behaviour, and indulge in acts that are morally and socially unacceptable: Complainants
Hyderabad: Two persons lodged a complaint with the Jubilee Hills police against Big Boss TV reality show for promoting obscenity and misleading the youth.
In their complaint, Kammari Srinivas of Gajwel and Bagannagari Ravinder Reddy of Siddipet said the show has been continuously telecasting objectionable and vulgar content in the name of entertainment. The participants often use abusive language, exhibit indecent behaviour, and indulge in acts that are morally and socially unacceptable.
“Such programmes are having a severely negative impact on young minds, misleading them towards aggression, disrespect, and immoral behavior,” they said.
“We are disturbed to note that this show encourages arguments, personal attacks, and unethical exposure purely for the sake of publicity. It promotes vulgarity, indecent dialogues, and behaviour which go against Indian family values and cultural ethics,” they said.
According to them, the content shown is neither educational nor socially useful; instead, it encourages the younger generation to imitate acts that are detrimental to their moral and mental health. By broadcasting such objectionable material during family viewing hours, the show is violating broadcasting ethics and causing serious damage to public decency and social values.
“We would also like to question the motives of Bigg Boss promoters, producers, and broadcasters. It is important to ask what message they are trying to convey to today's youth through such programmes and why participants with controversial backgrounds are being selected repeatedly. Instead of promoting discipline, social values, or public awareness, the show glorifies quarrels, disrespect, and indecency,” they said.
“We strongly believe that the content of the show is in clear violation of the Indian Penal Code and Information Technology laws. In view of the above, we request you to kindly take immediate action by registering an FIR against the promoters, producers, and broadcasters of the Bigg Boss TV show under the suitable legal Provisions and IPC Sections,” they said.
“We also request you to recommend to the higher authorities and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to suspend or ban the ongoing season of Bigg Boss to prevent further harm to society. As responsible citizens, we believe that freedom of expression should not be misused to promote vulgarity and moral corruption. Such programmes not only disturb public decency but also weaken the moral foundation of our youth and society at large,” they said.
