2 Dead, 1 Hurt As Lorry Rams Into People In Bhongir

NALGONDA: Two persons died on the spot and another sustained minor injuries when a lorry rammed into a group standing by the roadside at Jagdevpur Chowrasta in Bhongir, Yadadri-Bhongir district, at around 1.30 am on Sunday.

The deceased have been identified as Chilamamidi Rama Krishna (35) and Chilamamidi Sai Kumar (22), both residents of Pothireddypally in Kohir mandal, Zaheerabad district. A third man, Bheemuri Sai (33), was injured and taken to hospital for treatment. The three had come to Bhongir to attend a family function.

Bhongir circle inspector M. Ramesh said negligent driving and excessive speed were responsible for the accident. A case has been registered against the lorry driver, who fled the scene after the collision.
