17,771 Telangana Teachers Participate In 5-day Training Session
As part of a teacher training exercise in Telangana, 17,771 teachers underwent five-day sessions at the district level between May 13 and 17.
Hyderabad: As part of a teacher training exercise in Telangana, 17,771 teachers underwent five-day sessions at the district level between May 13 and 17. The second phase, which began on Tuesday, and will run until May 24, involves 89,378 teachers from mandal and district levels.
On the first day of the second phase, education secretary Dr Yogita Rana addressed participants through a Zoom session. This is the first time all 1.22 lakh government school teachers are being trained during the summer break.
Dr Rana encouraged teachers to use the training period effectively to enhance student learning outcomes and stressed the need for every teacher to update their teaching methods in a way that builds trust among communities in public education. According to her, if the training content is implemented properly, it could lead to measurable improvement in educational standards across Telangana.
Several teachers have demonstrated better learning outcomes through what they describe as best practices, which have helped increase enrolments. Officials plan to gather more information from such teachers and hold a statewide conclave, which will inform an action plan to adopt these practices across schools.
Dr Rana also laid particular emphasis on the Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) programme at the primary level. Teachers have been asked to make sure children are able to read, write, and solve basic mathematical problems confidently.
District officials and training heads have been asked to make arrangements so teachers do not face any difficulties during the sessions. Attendance and feedback will be managed through a mobile app, and certificates will be generated automatically after five days.
