12,993 Candidates in Fray for Feb 11 Civic Polls After 6,701 Withdraw

Hyderabad:At least 12,993 candidates were in the fray for 2,996 wards in municipalities and corporations for the February 11 elections, and 6,701 withdrew their nominations on Tuesday, the last day to do so.

A few candidates could not get the B Form from their respective parties parties continued in the fray as as independents. Following scrutiny of the papers, the State Election Commission will finalise symbols for independent candidates.
