Hyderabad: More than 1.2 lakh people received the fish prasadam on Tuesday, the second day of its administration at the Numaish Grounds, with officials reporting smooth arrangements and steady monitoring by government departments.

By 3 pm on Monday, over 1.06 lakh people had completed the dose across 38 queue lines, according to the fisheries department. Officials said an additional 20,000 to 25,000 people were expected to take the prasadam.

Despite rain in the city on Tuesday evening, most attendees had completed the dose by then, particularly outstation visitors, who largely finished before noon.

Speaking on the occasion, Amarnath Goud of the Bathini family said, “The family has been administering the fish prasadam for the past 80 years. After taking this fish prasadam, those suffering from bronchial diseases need to follow a particular diet. For preparing the fish prasadam, we secure herbs from across the country before Ugadi.”

Officials said extensive covered arrangements had been put in place in anticipation of rain, which helped ensure queues were not disrupted. On the second day, most attendees were from the city and the surrounding areas, and the process continued without interruption.
