11-Yr-Old Boy Dies Jumping Into Well To Save Lamb

WARANGAL: An 11-year-old boy died after jumping into an agricultural well to rescue a lamb at Rangapuram village in Khanapuram mandal of Warangal district on Thursday.
According to police, the boy, a Class V student and son of farmer G. Mallesham, had been assisting his father in tending sheep during the summer vacation when a lamb slipped into a deep well on the outskirts of the village.
On seeing the animal struggling in the water, the boy jumped into the well to rescue it. His father raised an alarm, following which local farmers and residents rushed to the spot.
Villagers managed to pull the lamb out alive, but the boy went missing in the water due to the depth of the well. Police and swimmers launched a search operation and later retrieved the boy’s body.
The incident left the family in distress.
