Youth Dies in Pudukkottai Cracker Unit Blast

Pudukkottai:A 22-year-old youth was killed in an explosion at a small cracker unit at Sidhakudi Patti village, near Illupur, in Pudukkottai district, on Friday.
Police said L. Surya of Veerakudi was working alone in the cracker unit owned by Premkumar.
There was a sudden explosion after which Surya’s body was found blown to pieces with severe burn injuries.
Illuppur tahsildar Sakthivel, DSP Diva, a police team and fire and rescue services personnel arrived at the spot and removed the body to the government medical college hospital at Pudukkottai.
Illupur police registered a case and are investigating.
