Vellore Collector Inspects Stormwater Drain Desilting Work
Vellore Collector P.S. Leela Alex inspected drain desilting and sewage works to reduce flooding risks ahead of the monsoon.

Vellore Collector P.S. Leela Alex on Tuesday inspected the ongoing desilting of stormwater drains in Vellore city. The works are being speeded up to avoid flooding of the town during the monsoon rains.
The Collector inspected the Nicolson canal and asked the officials to complete the desilting works before
the monsoon
rains.
She inspected the construction of the sewage pumping station at Vasanthapuram and the desilting of the Gansalpet storm water drains. Leela Alex asked the officials to remove the garbage and
sewage in the
canal.
She interacted with the people at EB Nagar after inspecting the desilting of the stormwater drains. The Collector asked the people not to allow stagnation of water in their area.
