Two Arrested for Posing as Minister Aadhav Arjuna, Seeking Rs 8 Cr From MLA

Chennai: Villivakkam police have arrested two persons for impersonating PWD Minister Aadhav Arjuna by creating a fake email ID in his name and demanding Rs. 8 crore from Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) Vellore MLA M.M.Vinoth Kannan to get a ministerial berth for him.
The two persons, Ruben Raj (27) from Vellore and Sakthi Arjun (21) of Tondiarpet, contacted Dayalan, who has contacts with the Vellore MLA office. They said they knew the minister and the Vellore MLA could get a post if he paid Rs. 8 crore to the minister through them. Ruben Raj created a fake email ID in the name of the minister and sent a screenshot of a confirmation message through WhatsApp to Dayalan.
When the information reached the MLA, he spoke to the accused in a group video call and found out that the accused had impersonated the minister to get money from the MLA. A complaint was given by a TVK functionary, Nisvaaq to the Villivakkam police, who investigated the incident. They arrested Reben Raj and Sakthi Arjun. The two persons are accused of impersonating the minister, creating fake electronic documents, and sending false information as part of a criminal conspiracy.
